Accessibility Statement

byChapters™ wants everyone to be able to browse, shop and get help on this website, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

How we check the site

In September 2026, before launch, we reviewed the site against WCAG 2.2 level AA. We tested it with a keyboard only, checked colour contrast, reviewed the code behind every template, and checked the layout on screens from 320 to 1440 pixels wide. We fixed the problems we found, including:

• menus, the basket and other pop-up panels can be opened, used and closed with a keyboard, and focus is always visible;
• text, buttons and stock messages meet contrast requirements;
• the home page slideshow and the scrolling banner each have a pause button, the slideshow also holds still while you hover over it or move into it with the keyboard, and nothing moves by itself if your device is set to reduce motion;
• form fields have labels, and errors say what went wrong;
• pages work when zoomed and on small screens, without sideways scrolling.

Known limitations

• Features from other companies. Our chat (Shopify Inbox), reviews (Judge.me), Chapter Points panel (Appstle), cookie banner and checkout are provided by other companies. We've styled them to fit the site, but we can't change everything about how they work.
• Screen readers. We haven't yet tested the site with screen readers such as VoiceOver or NVDA. If something doesn't work with yours, please tell us.
• Product videos. On larger screens, product videos play without sound as soon as they load, unless your device is set to reduce motion. Every video has play and pause controls.
