• What do I need that isn't in the box?

  Usually just two things: craft glue (a PVA or wood glue with a fine nozzle works best) and batteries for the LED light, which aren't included. If you're not sure which batteries your kit takes, ask us before you start. Tweezers and a small craft knife make the fiddly parts easier, but they aren't essential.

• How long does a build take?

  Most kits take roughly 4 to 8 unhurried hours, spread over a weekend or a few evenings. The estimated build time and difficulty are listed on every product page.

• When will my order be dispatched?

  In-stock orders placed before 3pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from our UK warehouse. After 3pm, at the weekend or on a bank holiday, they go out the next working day. Royal Mail Tracked 24 then aims for next-day delivery, though that isn't guaranteed.

• What if a part is missing or broken?

  We'll put it right free of charge, postage included, and you don't need to return the kit. Missing, faulty, wrong or delivery-damaged parts are covered, along with pieces broken during your first build, subject to availability. Tell us which piece on our Missing or Damaged Parts page and we'll reply within one working day.

• My LED light won't turn on. What should I check?

  Check the batteries are fresh and the right way round, the switch is fully on, and the wire hasn't been pinched by a wooden panel. Still dark? Tell us and we'll send a replacement light set free of charge.

• Can I return a kit if I change my mind?

  Yes — unopened kits (component bags sealed, everything in the box) can be returned within 60 days of delivery for a refund of the price you paid. You cover the return postage for a change of mind.
