A thin black frame holds clear panels over the walls and both roof slopes. At the front, a wooden door with a small 'garden' sign stands behind a criss-cross lattice gate, beside a cart wheel, a broom and a crate of red and pink flowers. Terracotta pots are stacked at the corner, ivy climbs onto the roof, and inside sit tiered plant shelves, a yellow potting bench with a blue-roofed birdhouse and a bright-blue back door.

An advanced build of about 15 to 20 hours, best spread over several sessions. The plants and clear panels are the fiddly parts: small printed paper leaves and petals are shaped and glued into potted plants and trailing greenery, and the panels need a steady hand to fit into the frame. The pendant lamp hangs from the roof truss, where its single warm LED lights the room from the middle.

For anyone who keeps a windowsill of cuttings or enjoys slow, absorbing work through autumn and winter evenings; a good gift for gardeners and patient makers. It stands on its own base, viewable from every side: a greenhouse for a desk, shelf or side table, not for a gap between books.
