First built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty as the main gate to the Imperial City in Beijing, the Tiananmen Rostrum — the Gate of Heavenly Peace — is one of the most architecturally significant structures in China: a 600-year-old example of imperial-era craftsmanship that still anchors the heart of Beijing today.

This 1,657+ piece display model recreates the gate’s signature features: the layered tiled rooftops with upturned eaves, the bold vermillion-and-yellow palette of traditional Chinese imperial architecture, the marble balustrade and the five archways.
